Added stability comes to XF10-24mmF4 R OIS WR in the form of a new, sophisticated gyro sensor that improves Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) from its previous iteration by one whole stop. This brings vibration reduction performance up to 3.5 stops, which can be further extended to 6.5 stops when it is paired with a current X Series camera equipped with in-body image stabilisation (IBIS), like Fujifilm X-T4. Regardless of the camera it is used with, one thing is certain, steady, handheld images are on the horizon.
Constant Evolution to Expand Possibilities
Aside from weather-resistance, which primarily protects XF10-24mm f/4 R OIS WR against dust and moisture, several other improvements have been brought to the newest iteration of this lens. For example, an A-position lock has been added to the aperture ring to prevent unexpected changes to the lens’s aperture settings. A new aperture scale has also been added to the aperture ring to allow for aperture settings to be checked without the need for on-screen displays. Last, the width of both the aperture and focus rings have been reduced by 1mm, shaving 25g off the total weight of the lens when compared to the previous version.
