Fantastic lens

The way this lens renders creamy background blur or bokeh is astonishing. Even at f9. With a reach of 800mm it is streaks ahead of similar 600mm zooms. The focus is quick enough and the "sharpness" good, but not quite as good as the 100-500. The 200-800mm is easy to carry around and handhold - perfect for bird photography especially paired with an R5.

The canon to have in a bag

Firstly, thanks to ODP for excellent service, and Lappies for being patient with my constant inquiries.

This is a very nice lens to have in the bag. Definitely more versatile than the 800 f/11 (for obvious reasons). Sharpness at 800mm might be a tad softer than the 800 f/11, and the weight difference is noticeable when hand holding.
The zoom range is perfect for avian and wildlife photography. F/9 does make a difference in ISO compared to the f/11, although the lens appears slightly sharper at F/10. I have not tested this extensively, so just a initial opinion.
I already got quite a collection of sharp avian images with this lens and a R6ii.
Priced perfectly for what you get. Build quality surprisingly better than what I expected.
Thank you ODP, for the fast (even on backorder) and efficient service.
