The Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-f/5.6 IS STM is a flexible wide-angle zoom in a compact form factor that adds impact to landscapes, cityscapes, and skies, allowing you to capture expansive interiors and architecture.

Helping to reduce the overall size while maintaining high optical quality, a four-group zoom design is employed along with one ultra-low dispersion element, one aspherical element, and one large-diameter element to produce sharp, clear imagery void of chromatic and spherical aberrations. A Super Spectra coating has also been applied to suppress flare and ghosting for increased contrast and colour neutrality.

Benefitting both photo and video applications, an STM stepping AF motor is used to realise quick and near-silent autofocus performance along with a full-time manual focus override. Additionally, a four-stop-effective Image Stabiliser system is also featured and minimises the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting.

Great Lens. Excellent service from Outdoor

This ultra-wide lens is a must-have for every photographer. It gives an excellent perspective and is very silent compared to the new STM technology. I found it very useful in low light. Takes beautiful videos. High quality build. One of my best buys yet.

Wide angle delight

This was my first foray into wide angle photography and I enjoyed this little lens to bits. It is really sharp, autofocus speed is pretty quick and the colours are rich and saturated. The minuscule minimum focus distance could also be used for great creative fun. The only reason I am not giving this lens 5 stars is for its slowness. For general landscape photography, it is perfect and there is nothing in the price range that can compete with it. Thing is, I like to do astrophotography as well and it is simply too slow for Milky Way photos. You can do star trails with it though, if set at 10mm.

If you want to explore wide angle photography, without worrying too much about low light performance, buy it. It is superb.

Lightweight and sharp

This is one of the best value for money lenses from Canon. I have been using this lens for landscape work for about 2 years now with great success.

Pro's:
Very sharp - miles better than the old 10-22mm
Very little chromatic aberration
Fast focus
Lightweight

Cons:
Focus go out when you zoom
No focus scale like the old 10-22mm

Equivalent focal length of 16-28mm on an APS-C body, it’s a great all round lens.
