Enables ground-level shooting for bird and wildlife photography

The Badger Gear Ground Pod is the perfect solution for ground-level shooting. In conjunction with a bean bag, you can also use it to shoot bird or wildlife photography from a vehicle or bird hide. Simply place the Gound Pod with a gimbal head on your bean bag and enjoy panning, tilting and overall ease of motion and increased stability. The unique circular design allows you to slide camera equipment in any direction on the ground. For a secure and stable fit on the bean bag, you can also invert the mounting screw to use the Ground Pod upside down.

Compatible with all gimbal heads

The Ground Pod was designed for use with any lens or camera combination up to 600mm and its wide mounting surface can accommodate virtually any ball head or gimbal style head fitting a standard 3/8" tripod mount.

Rugged yet lightweight

Made with heavy-duty polypropylene plastic the Ground Pod is rugged yet lightweight, weighing in at only 420g. With a unique circular design, it allows you to slide camera equipment in any direction on the ground.

Nice practical product

Makes shooting from a hide much easier than trying to balance your camera and lens on a bean bag. With a gimbal head fitted the combination works perfectly, it's just like having a tripod. I used the setup over the weekend, and what a pleasure to use the Badger Gear Ground Pod with my camera and lens at eye level, hand holding weight, panning a breeze, and much more ‘keepers ‘as a result.

Badger Gear Ground Pod - Best purchase

The Badger Gear ground pod is one of the best inventions for wildlife photography. Having used a gimbal with my rig supported on a beanbag for years, the ground pod is a welcome addition to my arsenal of equipment. It also beats the "hole-drilled-in-the-bottom-of-a-fryingpan"

Stability in the car

Bought this together with Badger BeanBag ahead of a trip to Northern Kruger. Used my monopod head, which was ideal for shooting with a big lens from the driver's seat. Also used the groundpod in conjunction with my Manfrotto #222 head for shots from the Bird-Hides. Much more convenient than a conventional tripod for photography on the move. A Wimberly head would probably be even better!
